We just spent a glorious weekend camping on the beach. The weather was wonderful and the company was good. People came & went all weekend but on Saturday our head count was 17 kids & 16 adults!

Our Nigist turned 7 today! What a blessing she is in our lives. I hear from her school teacher weekly about what an amazing helper she is in the classroom. How she's always listening and willing to help.
Sofia is a very conscientious girl, she although she occasionally attempts mischief but really does prefer the "proper" path. She's honest and curious and when she's passionate about something there's no stopping her! She prefers play to school work and yet she's doing well in her studies.
Sofia rarely has anything but a smile on her face. She's a very easy going girl. She rarely loses her temper and is quickly calmed when she does.
Sofia loves her little sisters and is even willing to give up things special to her to make them happy. She sets a great example in our house and is an amazing big sister.
We celebrated Sofias 7th birthday by going to the movie theater to see Rio 2 with our bffs The Mathesons and we had cake with Grants family.
6 years ago tonight I was tucked into bed in the Weygoss in Addis Ababa. Listening to the gentle breathing of our first baby. Wondering if I'd be able to sleep. Wondering if I'd wake up if she did. Wondering what happens now.
Tonight I lay tucked into bed in Victoria BC. Listening to the wind howl. Wondering which of my 3 girls will come into my bed first tonight. Wondering if they'll sleep until 7am. Wondering what happens now.
Sofia is an amazing girl. I am blessed to be her mother. 6 years a Mumma today and most days I feel like I'm doing alright at it.
I got a phone call at work back in October. It was a quick 2 minute conversation that went something like Grant "I've just been offered a job in Courtenay" Me "Ok cool". Fast forward 6 months and we're moving!
Unfortunately you can't fast forward life. The last 6 months have been difficult. A Dad just coming home on weekends and a Mum working evenings. Our girls have been troopers and I'm really glad it's over because I can ses it wearing on them. Our dog too, poor old guy.
Grant and I made a rough outline of a plan when this all started and things came together about how we expected. The house selling business is a LOT harder than I ever imagined and I am so very thrilled to add it to my list of accomplishments.
Starting May 15 the Dybdals will all live under one roof again.
