"I Beautiful"

I took Sofias hair out the other day and she ran around the house shouting "I beautiful!" I hope that Sofia always feels this way. She is such a stunning girl and I hope that she knows it. I had (and am currently having) body image issues and as the mother of two girls I need to learn how to love my exterior. I want my girls to be confident with themselves. Luckily the world is realizing and accepting that people come in all different sizes and shapes. It didn't feel like that when I was younger.

I wish that Sofia could wear her hair loose, but the comb-out is a nightmare. It's not that it's that hard, it's that she makes such a fuss when we do it. I am really looking forward to her being older and having a bit more understanding. I know that she is going to love wearing her hair loose and it looks fantastic!

Maizie is 1 month old

These pictures speak for themselves, our girls are beautiful! Sofia continues to enjoy being a big sister. She really enjoyed taking these photos tonight.
I can't believe how big Maizie has gotten in just 4 weeks. She'll be weighed tomorrow but I'm sure that she is close to 8.5 lbs now. I am loving having a newborn, I was meant to be a Mum. I spend much of my day staring at my girls in amazement and wonder, I am so in love with both of them.

Making soup

Sofia wants to help with everything, we try as much as possible to let her. On Tuesday I made soup for dinner so I let her help me. She added all the ingredients to the pot and stirred it too.
(Sofia is standing on a stool. She's tall, but not that tall yet)
I have learned that letting a 2 year old help you cook takes extra prep time, patiences, and extra clean up time. However, the smile on her face is worth all of it. Sofia was so excited that she got to help Mummy make dinner.

Sofia has also started feeding the cat and the dog. She calls it her job. For the most part I am really enjoying having a little helper. It is a bit harder to stay a step ahead of her though, you just never know what she is going to do next.

Sept 25

was Maizies first trip to the beach! 5 days old is long enough to wait to go to the beach. It was a lovely and warm day so we headed out to the ocean. Maizie wasn't very impressed and slept through the whole experience. Sofia had a great time and even waded into the water a ways.
